A very rare late 18th- or early 19th-century nutmeg grater of turned beech with a copper-alloy cover retaining a spring-loaded plate. The nutmeg is placed between the plate and a revolving grater in the central cuboid section, operated by the crank handle, and the grated nutmeg retrieved through the top cover
